Opt4STEM Partnership for College Success Program

SUMMER PROGRAMS

**Please note: the deadline to apply for the Mobile App Development Camp and Computational Science Course has been extended to Monday, April 29. The deadline to apply for all other summer programs was Sunday, April 21.

What are STEM summer programs?

Opt4STEM provides Von Steuben students the opportunity to participate in 17 different

STEM Enrichment Programs at Illinois Institute of Technology.

When are STEM summer programs?

STEM Summer Programs occur throughout the summer from June through August at Illinois Institute of Technology. Every program differs in date, location, and time and may even have multiple sections. Click on the programs below to find out more information about dates and times for the programs you have interest in.  Please note that some programs are located on the Illinois Tech Rice Campus in Wheaton, Illinois. Students will be expected to provide their own transportation to this campus so please pay close attention to where programs are located.

How can I apply?

Students should apply by Sunday, April 21, 2019 for Full Scholarship Consideration through the Opt4STEM program. Students can click on the links below to view the program of interest to them. Students will apply directly to the summer program of interest. If students do not meet the deadline for applying, they may still have the option to apply to the program, but will not be considered for an Opt4STEM scholarship. Students must get accepted into the program before being considered for a scholarship. Students should upload a PDF of their current grades when asked for transcripts. Their counselors will be contacted for a full transcript after the student applies.

**Please note: the deadline to apply for the Mobile App Development Camp and Computational Science Course has been extended to Monday, April 29.

What is the cost?

All accepted students receive a full scholarship to cover the cost of the program. Transportation costs are covered for students traveling to programs hosted at the Mies and Downtown Campuses. Students who are accepted into a program at the Wheaton Campus will need to find their own transportation. Von students can participate in as many programs that they get accepted to, as long as they do not overlap.

When do I receive my scholarship?

Students will be awarded their scholarship at the 2019 Opt4STEM Scholarship Awards Banquet on Monday, June 3rd from 6 - 8 pm at Von in the Auditorium. Students and parents are required to attend to receive the scholarship. Additionally, all scholarship recipients and their parents must sign a Scholarship Agreement Form to confirm their commitment.
